Jamal Shakur writes the streets he grew up on. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey — Brick City — he tells stories about loyalty, survival, and the choices that define a life, drawn from the blocks he knows firsthand.
His debut novel, The Streets Ain't Going Nowhere, follows Malik's rise and fall through Newark's drug game — a story Readers' Favorite called "lyrical, exciting, and utterly engrossing." It's the first book in the BRICK CITY series, with The Streets Ain't Going Nowhere — Part Two on the way.
Jamal publishes independently through his own imprint, Block Money Publications — no corporate filter, no watered-down version. Just the story as it really goes down.
